This Dancing Magnets - Ferrofluids Lab was created by SHINE: Seattle's Hub for Industry-driven Nanotechnology Education. "This lab consists of activities designed to teach students about ferrofluids and how nanotechnology can be used to modify the properties of magnetic materials." Lab resources include the Dancing Magnets (Ferrofluids) Lab, an Instructor Guide, and MSDS: Materials Safety Data Sheets.

The 8-page lab includes a pre-lab assignment, safety hazards and precautions, pre-lab questions, learning objective, an introduction, materials needed, experimental procedure, a lab report sheet, data analysis questions, and more. The 4-page instructor guide includes alignment to NGSS standards, materials needed, instructor procedures, calculation notes, and more.
